Andrew Blunt, sometimes spelled Blount, was 4th Sgt in Capt. William Quantrill's Partisan Rangers and participated in the battles of Pleasant Hill Mo. July 11 1862, Independence Mo. Aug 11 1862, and Lawrence Ks. He was killed along with 10 other confederate guerrillas 3 miles south of Oak Grove Mo. by a patrol of union soldiers led by General Brown.

SGT, Co C, Quantrill's (MO) Cavalry Regiment (CSA)...WIA, April 16, 1862. Caught and killed April 5, 1864 by Kansas Cavalry. He was left unburied by the Red Legs, considered not worthy of burial.
