Horrible Death of Young Man in
Papermill at Nekoosa.
CAUGHT IN A MACHINE,
Fred Westover is Instantly Killed—
Second Accident of the
Same Kind.
Nekoosa. Wis., Feb. 18.—[Special.]—
Fred Westover, a young man of 20
years, was instantly killed at 5 o'clock
this morning. He was employed as
third hand on No. 3 machine by the Ne-
koosa Paper company.
ln handing the paper to the backtender
he leaned over a little too far and was
caught between the two rolls of paper,
which were both running from him, with
about two inches space between them,
and his skull was crushed to a pulp,
causing instant death. His parents reside
here.
This is the second fatality of the same
kind on the same machine and in nearly
the same place.
An inquest was held on the body on
Tuesday and the coroners' jury re-
turned a verdict of accidental death.
Deceased was a man about 22 years of
age and unmarried and had made his
home at Nekoosa for some time past
during which time he has been an
employe in the mill. The funeral oc-
curred on Thursday.
