Edward was the son of Charles (or Karl or Charlie) and Charlotte Ann Stone (I'm not sure if Stone was her real maiden name). Edward was born 06 Jun 1892 in Marysville, Lewis and Clark, Montana.

Edward married Agnes Croy.

Edward and Agnes had two children

OBIT FOR EDWARD CHARLES JOHNSON SR.

Edward C. Johnson was born June 6, 1892 AT MARYVILLE TO KARL AND ANNA JOHNSON. IN 1894 HE AND HIS FAMILY MOVED TO KALISPELL WHERE THEY HOMESTEADED A WHEAT FARM. ED SPENT ALL OF HIS BOYHOOD IN MONTANA, AND AS A YOUNG MAN WAS EMPLOYED BY THE STATE TO DO SURVEY WORK AND ALSO AS A GUIDE FOR PARTIES GOING INTO GLACIER PARK.
HE WAS AN ARDENT SPORTSMAN. LOVING TO HUNT AND FISH AND A TRUE OUTDOORS MAN AND A MAN'S MAN. HE ALSO WORKED ON THE LOG DRIVES GOING UP AND DOWN THE FLATHEAD RIVER, AND PARTICIPATED IN THE RODEOS THROUGHOUT THE STATE.
IN 1917 HE ENLISTED IN THE U.S. ARMY AND WAS ASSIGNED TO THE SIXTH SQUADRON, AIR SERVICE. HE ATTAINED SGT. FIRST CLASS AND WAS HONORABLY DISCHARGED FROM SERVICE IN APRIL 1919 AT VANCOUVER, WASHINGTON.
RETURNING TO MONTANA HE ENGAGED IN A LOGGING CAREER AT COLUMBIA FALLS WHERE HE MET AGNES CROY. THEY WERE MARRIED IN JUNE 1922 AND TO THIS UNION WAS BORN TWO CHILDREN. THEY THEN MOVED TO BONNERS FERRY WHERE HE HAD A SHORT MINING CAREER. FROM THERE THEY MOVED TO TROY, MONTANA WHERE HE RESUME LOGGING AND pursued this career until 1946. He worked for the Zonolite Company in Libby until 1946 and then went to work for J. Neils Lumber Company until illness forced his retirement in 1955.
In 1959 he and his wife went to Ogden, Utah for a visit, and while there he became ill and was admitted to the veterans hospital in Salt Lake City, from there going to Kays Rest Home, where he was until the time of his death February 19.
He is survived by his widow, Agnes Johnson of Troy, a son. Eddie Johnson of Libby; a daughter, Vernettia Card of Ogden, Utah; three grandchildren, Diane, Berry, and Cindy.
The funeral was held in Troy Wednesday afternoon with Rev. Paul Freligh of Libby delivering the sermon. Songs and music also were from Libby. Pallbearers were Al Peters, Bill Rice, Leo Starr, Jack Haaland, Joe Siebenforcher and Les Kensler.
Interment was in the Libby Cemetery, with a Military funeral.

**** Edward Sr. was a member of the American Legion, in 1953 located in Bonners Ferry, Boundary, Idaho post number 55.
