British architect. He is famous for many projects, some of which became the symbols of modern England. Among them - the red telephone box, Battersea Power Station and Bankside Power Station, now converted into Tate Modern Gallery. He won the Liverpool Cathedral project competition when he was only 22 years old and completely unknown.
