Gregory S. "Greg" Smith, age 63, of Bogue Chitto MS., passed away on February 16, 2014 at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home of McComb with visitation again on Wednesday from 10 A.M. until services at 11 A.M. at the Calvary Baptist Church of Bogue Chitto, MS. Dr. David Millican will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Smith was born on July 8, 1950 in Brookhaven, MS. He is the son of the late G.W. and Lottie Hart Smith.

Mr. Smith was a Pest Control Technician, a bi-vocational preacher for over 40 years and a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Bogue Chitto. He loved the outdoors and nature; he enjoyed many strolls up and down the creeks and rivers of Southwest, Mississippi, searching for artifacts and fossils. He had an enormous collection of Crinoid Stems and baseball cards with staggering numbers. He enjoyed many nights in his back yard, feeding the raccoons and flying squirrels, both of which warmed up to him especially well. He was a gentle man who loved to talk, write genealogy books, and sing gospel music. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two infant sisters and a son-law, Mike Nunnery.

Survivors include, two daughters and their spouses, Susan and Ken Dobson of Petal, MS; and Shannon and Grant Nunnery of Liberty, MS., one sister, Janell Smith White and husband, Kenny of Sumrall, MS., five grandchildren, Lane Miller, Tyler Dobson, Colton Nunnery, Kayla Dobson and Rebekah Nunnery with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Lane Miller, Jim Winborne, Stan Winborne, Jeffery Winborne, Jakie Brent, Phillip Hemby, Terrell Rutland and Kenny White
