THE DETROIT NEWS-HERALD, 31 Jul 1941 from microfilm in Clarksville Library:

'Funeral services were held at Post Oak Sunday for Mrs. Loveless Stevens, 89, who died at Petersburg, Hale County, early Saturday morning with burial at Post Oak under direction of T. R. Bailey of Detroit. She was born in North Carolina July 6, 1852, was married to Joe Stevens in December 1869 and later moved to Texas and settled at Rosalie. After a few years residence there they spent four years in Parker County and moved back to Red River County and located in the Post Oak Community, where she made her home for more than 50 years. Her husband preceded her in death about 23 years ago. To them were born 9 children, five of whom survive: W. D. Stevens, Red Oak; J. A. Stevens, Cuthand; R. H. Stevens, Mrs. Ada Eves and Mrs. Arthur Eaves all of Petersburg. Besides these 42 grandchildren, 96 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was a member of the Baptist Church about 70 years.'

Daughter of William Erasmus Lovelace and Panthea Allison. She married Joseph Freeman Stevens on December 9, 1869.
