Charlene K. Rickards aka "Mousey"

After a long 10 year battle with cancer the love of my life in this world and the next Mousey/Charlene passed away peacefully at 10:30 PM Sat. May 19th 2007 at the much too young age of 50, with all her loved ones around her.
At her request and my greatest honour in this world and beyond we were married in the hospital on May 15th 2007 by the Hospital Chaplin with life time friends Lynne & Julie as bride maids and Julie's son Eric as my best man. (We had planned to to do this much earlier but her illness prevented us from making it a bigger splash so to say). Her last few hours seemed to be pain free as we all said goodbye to our Mousey Love. As the end came near she seemed to be sleeping when she woke up and looked at us all smiling, she reached out and said softly "Oh Koth! don't be so silly!" and was gone a moment later. "Koth" is a cute comic book little lizard critter with big ears (Like the cute critters in the movie Gremlins) who's always getting into mischief & fun in one of our artist friends Jim Hardiman's comics who Mousey really enjoyed.

Also as if he wanted to go first to clear the path that awaits his Missy Mousey, her much beloved pet Ferret Chester (Named after another furry comic book critter who she liked as well named Chester the Ringtailed Cat owned by our artist friend Terrie Smith) passed away peacefully in his sleep a few days before, so Mousey asked for him to be buried with her when her time came to join him, so his ashes were put into a copy of an ancient Egyptian Canopic jar with the head of Anubis on it to rest with her for all eternity. I can smile and rest easy now knowing she's playing with Koth & Chester right now. :~)

My only solace in all this is now she soars with Horus and the eagles and is forever pain free.

Her funeral was on May 26, 2007, and with her love of everything ancient Egyptian she requested to be bound up like a mummy and buried with her copies of the ancient jewelry and a few scarabs and shabtis to be wrapped up with her along with her favorite statue's of Anubis & Bast to help her with the weighing of the soul ceremony :~)

Yep she has to be different right up to the end and beyond and I'll miss her right up to the time I pass from this life to be with her.

"Speak her name and she shall live again"

I will attach two drawings of her Furry "Mousey" character of her and Anubis done by our good friends Jim Hardiman & Terrie Smith so you can see how much fun she just was in this life and how much fun she'll have in the next.

I'll love you forever my Mousey love! and I hope you'll put in a good word for me when its my turn to have Anubis weigh my sinfull heart.
