Irvin “Sonny” B. Alley, age 82, of Kettering, OH and formerly of Metairie, LA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 13, 2013.
A native of Blair County, PA, he is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Madeline Alley; parents, Pearl and Irvin Alley; sisters, Norma Knight and Jean Byrd; and brother, Ralph Alley.
Sonny is survived by his children, Rhonda (Tom) Shaw, Peggy (Tony) Fromholt, Tom (Jean) Nagle; grandchildren, Juliet Fromholt and Ken Nagle; sister, Erma (Bob) Wilson; brothers, Mike (Kate) Alley and Paul (Pat) Alley; sister-in-law, Deloris Alley; his beloved Rocky; and many other relatives and friends.
Sonny was a kind, loving, and hardworking man, who was always willing to help any person in any way he could. Everyone who knew him loved hearing his life stories about his early days in Pennsylvania and his work as a long distance trucker and shipyard worker. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
Visitation is Friday, October 18, 2013 from 11am to 12pm at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, Kettering, OH with Mass of Christian Burial starting at 12pm.
Entombment is to follow at Woodland Cemetery Mausoleum.
