Avid bingo player was homemaker
Eleanor J. DeMarco Dout of Hopper Road, Transfer, and Lackawannock Township, passed away at 8:50 a.m. Friday, June 11, 2010, in Clepper Manor, Sharon. She was 82. Mrs. Dout was born May 1, 1928, in Sharpsville to Mahlon and Lillian Numer Burkhart. Eleanor attended Sharpsville High School. A homemaker, she was an avid bingo player and enjoyed collecting elephant figurines and listening to Elvis music. Her first husband, Joseph S. DeMarco, passed away in 1989. She was also predeceased by her second husband, William P. Dout, in 2000.
Surviving are: four daughters, Eleanor Smeltz and her husband Harry, Hermitage;
Antoinette DeMarco, Sharon, and her companion Steve Roller; Theresa DeMarco, Sharpsville, and her companion Robert Johnston; and Mary DeMarco, also Sharpsville; three sons, Frank W. DeMarco, Farrell; Joseph S. DeMarco and his wife Donna, Mercer; and James E. DeMarco, West Middlesex; a sister, Shirley DePreta, Sharon; and 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren
and two great-great-grandchildren. Besides her first and second husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Louis S. DeMarco; two sisters, Mary Reeher and Betty Guthrie; and two brothers, James Burkhart and Howard Burkhart. The family would like to give special thanks to Southern Care Hospice, and to her granddaughter and caregiver, Mindy Eastlick.

Funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday (6-15-10) in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. C. Charles Eckles of I.H.S. Gospel Ministries, Hermitage, officiating.
