WILLIAMSPORT — Anna Mae Harbach, 87, passed peacefully into heavenly rest on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, at the Williamsport Home, where she resided for a number of years.
Anna, formerly of Loganton, was born on Feb. 11, 1928, in Loganton, a daughter of the late Edward Thomas and Ida Susannah (Dieffenderfer) Heggenstaller. She was united in marriage to the Rev. Robert C. Harbach on Aug. 7, 1951, who preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 2007, after 55 years of marriage.
Anna Mae was a graduate of Sugar Valley High School.
She was a homemaker who dedicated much of her life to caring for her family. She was an excellent cook and baker, and was known for her delicious sticky buns. She also enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. A favorite summer past time was picking and sharing blueberries with family and friends.
Anna was also an accomplished seamstress and taught both sewing and cooking as a 4-H leader for 15 years. She loved the Lord and was a member of Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren where she attended most of her life. She especially enjoyed singing the hymns of faith.
She is survived by four children, Cindy L. (Joel) Bowers, of Rohrersville, Md., Beverly A. (Stephen) Young, of Lewisburg, Vernon K. (Donna) Harbach, of Jersey Shore, and Katrina L. Harbach, of Montana; a son-in-law, Barry (Kimberly) Horst, of England; and blessed with 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one daughter, Carolyn R. Harbach Horst; and three brothers, Meredith Edward and Sherman Joseph Heggenstaller, both of Loganton, and Marsden Raymond Heggenstaller, of New Columbia.
A time of visitation will be held 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren, 2365 E. Winter Road, Loganton, followed by the funeral at 11 with pastors Kenneth E. Geisewite and William Mauch officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
