The Rev. Barry G. Harbach February 26, 1943 - February 15, 2007 The Rev. Barry G. Harbach, 63, of Weatherly, passed away Thursday, Feb, 15, 2007, at Hazleton General Hospital. Born Feb. 26, 1943, in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Ralph Jr. and C. Madeline (Heltman) Harbach. A graduate of Penns Valley High School Class of 1961, he received his bachelor's degree in music education from Penn State in 1965. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Lancaster Theological Seminary in 1969. Rev. Harbach served his ministerial career in the Penn Northeast Conference of the United Church of Christ at the following churches: LeRaysville United Church of Christ Charge, Christ U.C.C. Walnutport, Solomon's U.C.C. Macungie and his current pastorate, Salem and St. Matthew's United Churches of Christ in Weatherly and Packer Township. He was a member of Slatington Lodge #440 F & AM, a former member of Rotary International, where he received the Paul Harris Award, a member of Founding Board of Walnutport Authority, a firefighter and member of Diamond Fire Co., Walnutport and a member of Grundsow Lodge #18, Emerald. He is survived by his wife, Cass (Mary) (nee Fallon) Harbach, four daughters, Erin Harbach and Joanna Jajczyk, both of Macungie, Michelle, wife of Shawn Wanamaker, of Slatington and Elizabeth, wife of Yevgeniy Churilov, of Phoenixville; a sister, Dr. Barbara Harbach-George and her husband, Dr. Thomas George, of St. Louis, Mo.; two stepsons, Craig Kackenmeister and his wife, Katie and Scott Kakenmeister, all of Macungie; four grandchildren: Madison Jajczyk, Samantha, Dale and Lily Wanamaker; and aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends as well as four dogs and three cats. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, in Salem United Church of Christ, Weatherly. The Rev. Alan Miller, conference minister of PNEC, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Donald J. Stump Sr., pastor emeritus at Salem U.C.C. and the Rev. Russell Heintzelman. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at Livonia. Lodge # 440 will conduct a Masonic service at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday. Friends may call at church from noon until time of services. The Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, Weatherly, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to his family c/o the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, 211 First St., Weatherly, PA 18255
