"Local Soldier Killed in May in Pacific Area"

Pfc. Daniel William Hutchinson,was killed in action May 12, on Okinawa Island. His wife has been informed by the war department. Private Hutchinson was born Feb. 12, 1913 in Cheboygan Co.,Michigan. He attended Port Huron High School and was employed by the Michigan tool Company, In Detroit, before entering the Army in August 1943. He trained at camp Adair, Oregon. He is survived by his widow Mrs. Vanatta Hutchinson a son Daniel Jr.,6 and two daughters Beverly Ann, 7 and Louise 4.

Okinawa, May 12.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Venatta Hutchinson, 2425 Twenty-second
Street; his mother, Mrs. Bertha Steward, Detroit; two daughters, Beverly Ann, 7, and Louise, 4, and a son, Daniel Jr, 6.

"Hero Killed On Okinawa To Be Reburied Here"

The remains of Pfc. Daniel W. Hutchinson, 32, killed in action on Okinawa Island, May 12, 1945 will arrive tonight at the Arthur Smith funeral home for reburial here.
Private Hutchinson was born in Caro Feb. 12, 1913.
At one time he was employed by the Michigan Tool company, Detroit.
He is survived by two daughters, Beverly and Louise Hutchinson and a son, Daniel W. Hutchinson, all of Sarnia: his mother, Mrs Bertha Stewart, and step-father, Frank Stewart, both of Detroit: three sisters, Mrs. Thomas
Worley, River Rouge: Mrs. Frederick Harris, of Wayne, Michigan and Mrs. Clarence Wright, Munroe, La.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Tuesday in the funeral home. The Rev. Dean Austin E. DuPlan, rector of Grace Episcopal church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
Members of Charles Hammond post No.8, American Legion, will conducts Military rites."
