She was born Jan 30, 1917 in Glenwood, Arkansas, the daughter of Enoch Sherman Nelson and Winnie Lee Hethcox. She married Lois C. Flanagan on June 23, 1939 in the Shoals Community. According to her obituary in the Hugo Daily News: She worked with her husband ranching and raising her family down in the Frogville Community. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and just taking care of her family and anyone else that needed it. In her later years, she enjoyed working search puzzles and playing dominoes with family and friends and making quilts for her family. She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers: Leonard Nelson and Johnny Nelson; one sister, Maxine Rhodes; and one grandson, Randy Coffman. She is survived by 4 children; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She held a Nelson family reunion each summer at her home & I was able to attend in 1997. This was the picture that was taken that day.
