French nobility. Grand Sénéchal de Normandy, Comte de Maulevrier, Lord of Breval and of Montchauvet, Seigneur de Nogent-le-Roi, Baron de Illauny, Chamberlain to the King, Knight of the Order. From the maternal side grandson of King Charles VII and Agnes Sorel and from the paternal side grandson of Pierre de Brézé, who rests beside him. From 1501 until her death in 1512 he was married to Catherine de Dreux, only child of Jean II, Baron d'Esneval. On March 29th, 1514 he married the 36 years younger Diane de Poitiers. The marriage was happy despite the big age difference and resulted in the birth of two daughters. His tomb is a work of Jean Cousin and Jean Goujon.
