Mrs. Dorothy DeLauter

Mrs. Dorothy Virginia "Miss Dot" DeLauter, 91, of Clarksburg, died Tuesday, April 27, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, after a short illness.
She was the wife of the late William DeLauter. They were married for 54 years.

She was born May 1, 1908 in Clarksburg.

She served as a foster parent since 1973 and was awarded the "Grace Tarra Outstanding Foster Parent Award for Frederick County" in 1983.

She was a member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church.

She is survived by three sons, William V., Irvin U. and Ivan W. DeLauter, all of Frederick; two daughters-in-law Gloria and Pammy DeLauter; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Emily Snowden of Frederick; three nieces, Vauda Barton of Frederick, Carrie Brown of Clarksburg, and Dottie Heard of Frederick; four nephews, John Webb of New York, and Ulysses Heard, Jackie Goe and Maynard Heard, all of Frederick; and nine foster children, Lisa McFarland, Nancy Keys, Vickie Weedon, Peggy Warfield, James Haussling, Gloria Lee, James Greenwalt, Latisha Greenwalt and Charles Thomas; and many other relatives.

She will be remembered by numerous other foster children with whom she shared her home and heart.

She also leaves behind dear friends, Royal and Velma Lawson.

Friends may call from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, April 30, at Gary L. Rollins Funeral Home, 110 W. South St., Frederick. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 1, in Rollins Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Ralph Moore will officiate.
