Actor. He was born in New York city. A graduate of Columbia University and a veteran stage actor, he is fondly remembered for his role as the Italian military officer Tonelli in "Casablanca" (1942). Also he played in "The Song of Fame" (1934), "My Sister Eileen" (1942), "Mission to Moscow" (1943), "The Sonf of Bernadette" (1943), "Passage to Marseille" (1944), "The Hairy Ape" (1944), "Kismet" (1944), "A Thousand and One Nights" (1945), "A Bell for Adano" (1945), "Yolanda and the Thief" (1945), "A Double Life" (1947), "Bomba and the Hidden City" (1950) and "Three Coins in the Fountain" (1954). Also he appeared in hundreds of feature films, comedy shorts, and television shows from 1941-1966. Sometimes was credited as Charles De La Torre.
