When he was nine his family moved from Rice County, Kansas to Marion County, Kansas. He received his schooling at Canada (5 miles west of Marion).

He was a farmer, ran a welding shop, & at the time of retirement worked at the city power plant. A single line in the Marion [Kansas] Review newspaper on page one (Thursday, September 7, 1916) states that "Mr. Glen Kline has accepted work at the Seymour Packing house."

He loved family, home, gardening, yard work, and wood working. At an early age he joined the Evangelical church. He served as Sunday School secretary & later taught the Harmony class which he helped organize. He held a number of offices in church. He sang in a male quartet for 25 years. He & Lucy sponsored the youth group.
