Janie was a born mom. She had her two children, Ricky and Abrina, close together and was an active part of their lives. She was a baseball mom, softball mom, football mom...you name the sport, she was there.
Janie's husband and children were first in her life. Family was important to her. So were her pets. At one time, her menagerie included three goats, in addition to the dogs and cats she rescued from certain death.
Children flocked to her. She entertained them and communicated with them on a level that was childlike and adult at the same time.
She had a winning smile and an infectious laugh, and was truly a beautiful person, inside and out.
She left this world too soon, but all of us are grateful for the legacy she left behind.
Janie was survived by her husband, Rick, her two children, Ricky and Abrina, her parents and siblings and countless others who had the privilege to call her friend.
Warm thanks to Dawna Tillery for submitting the photo of Janie's stone.
