My Uncle And Godfather. Emanuele Baldacchino, known as Lino, a native of Cospicua, Malta, was the eldest of three children, born to the late Joseph Baldacchino (1929 – 2005), and Carmela Barbara (1935 – 2007).

Lino received his elementary education at Saint Francis's School, under the care of the Franciscan Nuns, but left school at an early age, working as a Plasterer with his father, and later being joined by his younger brother, John.

He also served as Vice – President of the Cospicua Feast Group, founded by his father Joseph, Vice – Sacristan of the Collegiate Parish Church of Cospicua, and Barman of the named Feast Group Centre. Following the retirement of his father, he worked as a Watchman within the Malta Films Studios in Rinella.

Baldacchino, along the years, was assigned through numerous activities of the Immaculate Conception Parish Church, including plastering, the Holy Week Celebrations, the Immaculate Conception Feasts on December 8, the digging through the Church Foundations in order to construct a Niche for the Titular Statue of the Immaculate Conception, the restoration of the Vaults of the Reverend Chapter of Cospicua's Collegiate at Santa Maria Addolorata's Cemetery in Paola, and the Centennial Celebrations of the Incoronation of the Titular Image of the Immaculate Conception in June, 2005. Together with his father, he introduced the "Marċ tas-Siegħa", held to this day of the Liturgical Feast of the Immaculate Conception in Cospicua on December 8.

As Altar Boy during his teenage years, he assisted among others the late Monsignor Domenico Cutajar and Reverend Joseph Cassar, former Archpriests of Cospicua, during their deaths, whilst receiving the Holy Viaticum.

Whilst serving as Vice – Sacristan, he took care of cladding numerous deceased, serving as Pallbearer to many. He clad among others in Gothic Liturgical Vestments, the renowned Msgr. Luigi Abela D.D., B.L.Can., (1910 – 1986), the last Vicar Curate of the Collegiate Parish Church of Cospicua, and Canon Chancellor of the Metropolitan Cathedral Chapter of Mdina, and Canon Dean, Reverend Michele Camilleri (1903 – 1983).

Lino Baldacchino died at the early age of 55, on Saturday, July 19, 2008, whilst recovered at Mater Dei Hospital, due to cardiac related complications. His Funeral Mass was celebrated at Cospicua's Parish Church on Monday, July 21, followed by internment at Santa Maria Addolorata's Cemetery, inside one of the Vaults of the Crucifix Fraternity of the Collegiate of Cospicua, beside his parents.
