Sidney was the first husband of my ggg-grandmother Eliza Ann (Waddell) Brady Jenkins. In their short marriage, they had 3 children—Sarah, Annie and Thomas—who along with Eliza, survived him.
Sidney enlisted in the 6th Virginia Cavalry, Co. F., C.S.A. on Oct. 15, 1862. On May 19, 1864, he was taken prisoner in Fauquier Co., VA. He was sent to Fort Delaware. He caught pneumonia and died there in the last month of the war, aged about 26 years.
