SERVICES HELD FOR JOE LYON
Funeral services for Joseph W. Lyon, 83, Lehigh, will be held Thursday, May 27. Rev. Dale Kelley will conduct the services at 2 p.m. at the Lehigh Christian Church. Graveside rites will be conducted by the Lehigh American Legion at the Otho Cemetery.
Mr. Lyon passed away Monday afternoon, May 24, at the Boone County Hospital.
Carson Funeral Home, Dayton, is in charge, where friends may call after 4 pm Wednesday.
Surviving are the widow, Frances, Lehigh; sister, Mrs. Albert Huen, Fort Dodge, and brother, Mathew Lyon, Dakota City.
Mr. Lyon was born at Clare and attended school there. For a number of years, he worked for the New Idea Farm Manufacturing Company in Fort Dodge.
In 1948 he married Frances Bloomquist in Fort Dodge and they made their home in Lehigh. Mr. Lyon had been a patient at the Dayton Care Center for the past two years.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War I.
Mr. Lyon was a member of the United Brethren Church of Lehigh and Hawkeye Barracks, Veterans of World War I of Fort Dodge.
