"Mr. Julius Gerson, father-in-law of Mr. William M[erritt] Chase, the artist, and for many years a well known figure in the dry goods district, died of internal troubles yesterday in the Polyclinic Hospital. He was eighty-five years old and was a designer of note. He left three daughters, Mrs. Chase and the Misses Minnie and Virginia Gerson, the latter well known as a designer of theatrical costumes."
