Virginia was called home by her Lord and Savior at 8:07 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, at the Vermilion County Nursing Home of Danville; she was 88.

She was born Feb. 7, 1922, the only daughter of Kenneth Paul and Elsie Slunaker Juvinall.

Virginia married Harry M. Englert on her birthday in 1940. She later married William Robert Nungester in Danville on April 27, 1968.

She is survived by three children, Betty May Doan (John) of Danville, Harry (Butch) Linda Englert of Catlin and Nancy Melecosky (Jim) of Polk, Ohio; her son-in-law, Everett Eugene Powell; sisters-in-law.0 Ruth Speckman of Danville, Juanita, Mildred and Betty of Ohio and Roberta Juvinall of Danville; 18 grandchildren, Tammy Dudley, Everett (Rusty) Powell, JoBeth Smith, Randy Powell, Sherry Carter, Terry Doan, Teresa Cadle and James (Jay)Tomlinson, Bradley Englert, Scott Englert, Debbie Englert, Lena Otis, Keith Miller, Jacob Englert, Gene Bloomfield, Melissa Graves, Jennifer Dunnan and Tony Melecosky.

Virginia had many great- and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wilbur Loyd, Paul Edward, Fay Gene and Floyd Melvin Juvinall; her child, Sally Ann Powell; infant son, Robert Gene Englert; and infant granddaughter, Jody Lynn Powell. Her great-grandchild is Angel Murdock.

Virginia worked at General Electric and as a cook in some restaurants, leading her and Bill to start a restaurant in Catlin and Tilton Road called Double R Sandwich Shop. She was active in React and Circle 21 citizen band radio clubs.

Virginia belonged to the Vermilion Fishing Club and had a cabin on the Wabash. She loved to camp and fish. She also loved to feed the squirrels and birds.

She was a grandma to everyone; she loved people and was always the first to help if you needed it. She was always on the go and she had a great sense of humor. She loved her children and grandchildren.

Virginia loved her church and was a member of the Southside Church of the Nazarene, where she passed out bulletins on Sunday mornings. Memorials can be made to the Southside Church Building Fund.

We would like to thank the nurses and aides at the Vermilion County Nursing Home for the care and love she received for 5½ years.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at Southside Church of Nazarene with Kent Pitcher and Randy Holden. Visitation: 8:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Cemetery: Oak Hill of Danville. Pape Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
