Daughter of Louis and Madeline Hughes Ratliff. Married Ronald Dale Carver June 1, 1968 at Franklin Furnace Methodist Church, Franklin Furnace, Ohio. Mother of 3 children: Melissa Sue Carver Huffman, Eric Carver and Jeremy Carver.

Five grandchildren: Trevor, Tate and McKenzie Carver, Zachary Lee and Ethan Taylor Huffman and Tyler Carver.

Rita died of breast cancer at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, Kentucky.
