PALM COAST, Fla. -
Two former financial planners who faced complaints that they steered clients into high-risk investments were found dead Saturday, along with their 12-year-old daughter, in an apparent double murder-suicide, authorities said.Preliminary investigations indicate Kevin and Belinda Henderson and their daughter, Cori, died of strangulation, Flagler County Sheriff Donald Fleming said. Investigators have not said which family member was responsible. The bodies had been in the family's luxury condo since Thursday until Belinda Henderson's elder daughter found them, authorities said.Kevin and Belinda Henderson worked as financial planners for American Express Financial Advisors until several clients complained to the company and a regulatory agency that the couple had steered them into high-risk, money-losing investments. The company, which later became Ameriprise Financial, has paid more than $350,000 to settle nine complaints, according to the National Association of Securities Dealers, a trade association that helps to regulate sales of investment products. Other claims were pending.
