Mrs. Mary A. Burkhart, widow of Thomas G. Burkhart, died at the home of her cousin, William Thomas, Holsopple, Somerset county, at 12:45 a.m., Monday, of a heart ailment. She was born at Holsopple, October 18, 1858, a daughter of Samuel and Lydia Miller. She was a former resident of this section, having lived at South Altoona, prior to the death of her husband 10 years ago. Surviving are five sons, Mahlon of Altoona: James and Robert, of Canan Station; Levi, of Eldorado, and Harvey, of Black Lick; four daughters, Mrs. B. I. Brubaker, Altoona; Mrs. Rachel Spade, Gallitzin; Mrs. Alice Hoover, Cross Keys, and Mrs. Sadie Wilt, Canan Station; one brother, William Reap, Newville; three sisters: Mrs. Sara Abrams, also of Newville Mrs. Nann Stuff, Myersdale, and Mrs. Scott Singer, Philadelphia; 34 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Brethren church.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Sixth Avenue United Brethren church, at 1 p.m. tomorrow, in charge of the Rev. B. J. Waltz.
