A life-long resident of Carson valley, died on Wednesday morning at 7:45 o'clock, at the home of his daughter at Tiffin, O., to which place he had gone to visit a few weeks ago. While not in the best of health when he left, his condition was not regarded as alarming. His fatal illness was of only a few days duration and death was attributed to complications. He was born on Feb. 5, 1867, at Carson valley and was the son of Samuel and Christina Berkey Brubaker. On May 3, 1892, he was united in marriage with Miss Sarah Ann Hoover, who preceded him to the grave on April 24, 1914. Surviving are these sons and daughters: Della, Dessa, Oscar, Amos, Lester, Arthur, and Wilmer, all of Tiffin, O., and Alfred, Mrs. Olive Helsel and Mrs. Martha Helsel, all of Carson Valley. Thirteen grandchildren and these brothers and sisters also survive: David of Torrance, Sara Brubaker of Gallitzin, Samuel of Sugar Run, Aaron of Cross Keys, Silas of Altoona, and Elinas of Loop. He was a lifelong member of the Carson Valley Church of the Brethren and filled church offices at various times. The body has been brought to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clarence Helsel, at Carson Valley, and the funeral will be conducted from there, with services in the Carson Valley Church of the Brethren Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be made in Carson Valley cemetery.

DELLA B. (BRUBAKER) DeVANNA

Formerly of Carson Valley but since 1929 residing in the vicinity of Tiffin, Ohio, died yesterday, Jan. 29, 1970, in Mercy Hospital, in Tiffin. She was born at Kittanning Point Feb. 23, 1893, a daughter of John A. and Sarah (Hoover) Brubaker, and married Robert DeVanna in 1933. Surviving are her husband, eight brothers and sisters, Amos, Wilmer, and Dessa of Tiffin, Oscar and Lester of Lake Wales, Fla., and Alfred, Mrs. Martha Helsel and Mrs. Olive Helsel of Duncansville RD 1. Mrs. DeVanna was a member of the Fostoria, Ohio, Church of the Brethren.
