James L. Beasley, 86, a resident of Hoosier Village, formerly of Mooresville and Plainfield, died February 15, 2012. Mr. Beasley was born May 13, 1925, in Mooresville, to the late Virgil and Bessie Mae (Head) Beasley.

He graduated from Mooresville High School and proudly served in the Army Air Corp during World War II as a navigator on B-24 planes. Mr. Beasley retired from the Allison Division of General Motors in 1980. Always staying busy, he worked in his retirement years for National Car Sales as a courier. He was a faithful member of the Plainfield Christian Church and the Plainfield Elks Club. He enjoyed all kinds of sports, but was especially fond of golf.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rosemary (Hurt) Beasley; one son, James Bruce Beasley; brothers, Robert and Paul "Bud" Beasley.

He is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Grimme (John) of Zionsville; sisters, Betty Beasley and Peggy May, both of Mooresville; grandchildren, John Tyson Grimme (Nichole) and Lauren Elizabeth Grimme; great grandchildren, Amaris Grimme and Zoe Nichole Grimme.

Friends and family will gather from 2 to 5 p.m., on Sunday, February 19, 2012, at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., on Monday, February 20, 2012, in the Plainfield Christian Church, with an hour of calling prior to the service. Entombment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
