Military Aviation Figure. World War II Air Vice-Marshal of the Royal Canadian Air Force. A native of Saint-Stanislas-de-Kotska (Québec), he studied at the college of Valleyfleld. In 1915, he joined the Royal Flying Corps as a pilot-officer. From 1919 to 1926, he was deeply involved in the birth of commercial aviation in Canada. In 1934, he joined again the active service and he created the 118th Bombing Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air force. In the Summer 1940, he took part in a secret mission to the French Antillas ferrying American bombers. During WWII, in Canada, he took charge of the Air Command No. 1 and was promoted to the rank of Air Vice-Marshal. After the war, he served as aide-de-camp to the Governor General. He became also member of the borard of Canadair Ltd.
