World War I Victoria Cross Recipient. Born in Dunskey, Scotland, he served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the 24th Battalion, Candanian Expeditionary Force. On the dates of August 27, 28, 1918, on the Fresnes Rouvroy line, France, the brigade of which Lieutenant Colonel Clark-Kennedy's battalion was a central unit suffered heavy casualties. At this juncture Lieutenant Colonel Clark-Kennedy encouraged his men and led them forward, then by controlling the direction of neighboring units and collecting stragglers, he enabled the whole brigade in a front advance. Next day he was severely wounded, but despite his injuries, he refused to be evacuated until he had gained a position from which the advance could be completed. For most prestigious gallantry, he was awarded the Victoria Cross and promoted full Colonel. He died at age 82 in Montreal, Canada.
