Canadian and French hero of the Seven Years War in America.

A native of Montréal (Québec), he became brigadier general of the "Compagnies franches de la Marine," serving under General Montcalm.

At the battle of the Plains of Abraham, in the city of Québec, he was the commanding officer of the right wing of the militia. He was killed in action and buried in this battlefield.
