Leonard L. Stafford, aged 39, of 416 East Broadway, Mishawaka, died at 9:50 a.m. Thursday in Billings hospital, Chicago. He had been ill a few days following an operation. Mr. Stafford was born April 23, 1898, in Sidney, Ind. He moved to Mishawaka two months ago from South Bend. He was married April 23, in Goshen, Ind., to Miss Esther George, who survives. He was employed seven years by the Stevens Oil company, South Bend. Surviving besides his widow are a son, Richard Stafford, Indianapolis; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Holben, Union, Mont., and Mrs. E. F. Stevens and Mrs. Harry R. Wilkinson, South Bend, and two brothers, Charles A. Stafford, South Bend, and Ora E. Stafford, this city. Mr. Stafford was a member of Eel River Christian church, Kosciusko county, Indiana.
The body may be viewed in the Bubb chapel, Mishawaka, from tonight until noon Sunday, when it will be taken to First Methodist Episcopal church, Mishawaka. There it may be viewed from 1 p.m. until the funeral at 2 p.m. Rev. S. H. Turbeville, D.D., pastor, will conduct services and burial will be in Spring Creek cemetery, Pierceton, Ind.
