Tulsa pioneer. The "Father of Tulsa". Hall came into Indian Territory in 1883 operating a store that sold provisions to railroad workers as they extended the rail line from Vinita to the Arkansas river. He is credited with selecting the site for the town and laying out the first street.He founded the school system and the first church. He saw the city grow from a collection of tents to over 150,000 people. In 1927 he wrote the book "The Beginning of Tulsa".
