With a lifetime of singing and performing behind her, she was cast in the popular "Coronation Street," firstly as 'Bessie Procter' from 1972-73, then later as 'Phyllis Pearce' from 1982-97, the long-time nemesis of 'Percy Sugden,' played by Bill Waddington. Suffering heart problems, she appeared less frequent in "the street," until she finished in 1996. She passed away on January 11, 1997.
