Catherine was the daughter of Daniel Mathias LeCrone & Elizabeth Sprinkle.
She married John Seymour Ashbaugh on 25 Oct 1838 in Fairfield Co., OH.
They had seven children. The names of five are known:
1. William Winfield (married Harriet Vorhees)
2. Daniel C. (married Nettie Clark)
3. John H.
4. George S.
5. Mary M. "Mollie" (married William H. Loy & Daniel Dowd)

Note that her obituary states she was survived by two sons and one daughter. They would be William Winfield Ashbaugh, Daniel C. Ashbaugh, and Mary M. "Mollie" Ashbaugh Loy Dowd. I have doubts that John H. Ashbaugh (memorial 87614658 ) linked to this memorial is her son. She had a son by that name, however, the man linked was born in Columbiana Co., OH and spent his entire life in Ohio. That doesn't mesh for a child of Catherine's. Based on census records, it appears that her sons John & George died between 1850 and 1860.

Mrs. Catherine Ashbaugh died last Friday, the 31st. She had been an invalid for months and her death was not unexpected. She was one of our oldest and most highly respected citizens, and a true christian woman. Almost her whole life was spent in the service of her Master. The funeral took place from the M.E. church last Saturday, Rev. J. S. Hall preaching the funeral discourse to a large audience of relatives and friends, after which the remains were laid in the Watson cemetery beside her husband. She leaves two sons and one daughter besides a host of relatives and friends to mourn her death. Those present from a distance were John LeCrone and wife, Lew LeCrone, and daughter of Effingham.
