Social Celebrity.Born in Orense,Spain.Father of famous Spanish singer Julio Iglesias and grandfather of Julio's son, the also well-known singer Enrique Iglesias. Dr. Iglesias, a retired gynecologist, also known by all as "Papuchi", passed away in Madrid at age 90 due to a sudden heart attack.He was very popular within the spanish countries and communities, due to his great sense of humour, vitality,kindness and social achievements.While active as a gynecologist, he became the youngest ever to serve as such in the Spanish Social Security Free Medical System still in use for all Spanish citizens.He was also one of the first to study the method of giving birth without pain, and co-founder of Madrid's Maternity Clinic, as well as Head of the Department of sterility,infertility and family planning of Madrid.In 1981,he was kidnapped by the Spanish terrorist group ETA,and released a month later,after his son paid a high ransom for his release.He lived under the shadow of his son and grandson,yet his positive mind and spirit soon made him famous on his own.He became a popular celebrity after his retirement,and went on to dedicate his time in charity fundraisers and the funding of several clinics in Spain, as well as in Florida.He was a regular in many TV talk shows all throughout the spanish-speaking countries,including the United States latin TV channels.He lived and shared with all a happy life, and had a quick death.His death was mentioned all throughout the world by major International news teams,amongst them CNN,UPI,REUTERS and AP. He was married twice,and is survived by his wife and three sons, with another yet to be born to Ronna Keit,his recent 42 year old wife.He will always be remembered by all who knew him.
