Lyricist and Poet. He was the son of the counts of Gómara. He was born in Sevilla (Andalucía) and died in Madrid. He along with composer Manuel Quiroga and author Antonio Quintero, become the best and most prolifics copla (spanish popular songs)lyricists during 40s and 50s. He was friend of Federico García Lorca, León Felipe and Antonio Machado and was included in the Generation of 1927. He triumphed with his songs, in collaboration with Quintero, Xandro Valerio or Salvador Valverde, for singers such as Conchita Piquer, Lola Flores, Imperio Argentina, Juanita Reina or Marifé de Triana. Among others "Ojos Verdes," "¡Ay, Mari Cruz!," "María de la O," "Triniá," "Eugenia de Montijo," "Tatuaje,"La Parrala," "La Lirio," "Yo Soy Esa," Amante de Abril y Mayo," "La Zarzamora" and "A la Lima y al Limón." He wrote several books of poems such as "Pena y Alegría del Amor" and "Jardín de Papel."
