Kathy Lynn Grant transitioned from labor to reward, January 5, 2016 after an extended illness. She was born April 8, 1960 in Columbus, OH. Preceded in death by brother, Marshall Leland Grant, III.

Kathy graduated from Whitehall Yearling High School and attended the Ohio State University. Kathy retired from employment for the Senate of Ohio completing 31 1/2 years of service in 2012. To enhance her special gift of speech and writing, she joined the Whitehall Toastmaster's Club and happily achieved the level of Bronze Communicator. At the onset of her illness she was pursuing expertise in computer science at Columbus State Community College and served as a proctor for the Ohio Supreme Court.

Kathy had the gift of intercession and didn't hesitate to make known to everyone she met her greatest commitment in life was to her Heavenly Father! She was a member of Equip U Ministries. Being baptized at an early age, always involved in church activities and looking for ways to demonstrate the love of God was her passion. If someone needed a ride to church it was her pleasure to pick them up and take them back home. Although she had no children of her own, time spent with her great nieces and nephews such as playing football, flying kites or bowling always with a big grin on her face. Her nephew, Zaevyon loved spending the night and going to church with her while his mom was at work. Although Kathy has passed, the love we have for her is still present and stronger than ever. Innumerable experiences of Kathy will never be forgotten by parents, Marshall and Delores Grant; sisters, Charissa and Renita; nieces, Schena and Lavida; and nephews, DerRick and Kai; and a host of extended family and friends.

The family wishes to extend gratitude for each and every prayer, card, call and so many other acts of kindness.
