Wilhelmine ("Minnie") Schroer was the daugher of Georg Schroer and his wife. She was born in Lienen/Tecklenburg, Westfalen, Germany and arrived in the United States in 1853 at the age of 10 years with her parents. In 1870 she and Reverend Gottlieb Beisser were married. In 1888 she became a citizen of the USA. With her husband, they served German Reformed churches in Ohio, Wisconsin and Indiana. Childless, in 1877 they sent for two children of Reverend Beisser's deceased brother (Christine and
Georg) and in 1890 they brought over another one, Friedrich, and raised them as their own. Wilhelmine passed away at the home of a niece in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Services For Mrs. Minnie Beisser To Be Held In This City Tomorrow
Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Beisser, 92, widow of Rev. Gottlieb Beisser, who died Wednesday morning at Cincinnati, will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clok at the Zion Reformed church here. Rev. C. M Prugh, pastor, assisted by Rev David Grether, will officiate.
The body will be brought to Decatur Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock and will be taken to the W. H. Zwick funeral home where it may be viewed until time for the funeral. Burial will be made in the Magley cemetery.
Mrs. Minnie Schroer-Beisser was born at Linen, Tecklenburg, Germany in 1843. She came to this country at the age of nine years and lived at Cincinnati, where in the year 1870 she was married to Rev. Gottlieb Beisser. Her husband became the pastor of the joint Magley-Decatur congregation of the Reformed church in 1876 and remained at this pastorate until 1887.
The couple later retired and spent their remaining years of life together in Decatur, where Mrs. Beisser resided in this city until 1927 when she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio.
The deceased was a member of the Zion Reformed church, was a charter member of the Ladies Aid Society of the church, and maintained her membership in that organization. At the time of her death she was the oldest member of the local congregation.
Surviving are an adopted daughter, Mrs. Georg Leis of Spencerville, Ohio, and a niece, Mrs. Henry Schroer of Cincinnati, Ohio.
