MOLLY ELIZABETH "MARY" BREWER was born near Paris, Lamar County, Texas, January 18, 1862, the daughter of Stephen Mathew Brewer and Martha Jane Robinson. Her mother died when she was four years old, and she and her two sisters (Theodocia and supposedly Jenny) went to live with their mother's sister, Julia Robertson Choat.

In 1870, she was in Burnet County, Texas, along with Theodocia, in the household of Richard and Julia Choat. She remembered "moving out to the breaks," and mentioned Breckenridge and Brownfield, Texas.

When she was 12 years old, her dad remarried and she went to live with him and his new wife. She was the only one of the three girls by his first marriage that lived at home until she married (Thomas Franklin Anderson, August 30, 1883, in Crawford County, Arkansas.) After she married, her husband called her Mary instead of Molly--in deference to him, her tombstone reads "Mary E. Anderson."

Molly and Thomas Franklin Anderson were the parents of 12 children, 8 of whom lived to maturity: (1) Ida Annie Anderson, born 31 May 1884, died 28 January 1886, (2) Rosa Anne Anderson, born 4 January 1886, died 3 September 1971, (3) Stephen Nelson Anderson, born 2 July 1887, died 29 March 1971, (4) Twin Girl Anderson, born and died 1889, (5) Twin Girl Anderson, born and died 1889, (6) Andrew Joseph Anderson, born 19 January 1890, and died 16 February 1954, (7) Nora Louisa Anderson, born 3 March 1892, and died 6 January 1985, (8)William Monroe Anderson, born 19 Jun 1894, and died 3 January 1963, (9) Martha Ellen Letisha Anderson, born 24 January 1896 and died 18 June 1978, (10) Mary Florence Anderson, born 26 September 1899, and died 5 August 1972, (11) Boy Anderson, born and died 1901, and (12) Lewis Frank Anderson, born 30 July 1904 and died 15 February 1989.

Molly/Mary belonged to the Rebecca Lodge at Figure Four, Crawford County, Arkansas.

In 1916, she and her family relocated to Lincoln County, Oklahoma, living near Kendrick.

She died from throat cancer on November 2, 1926 (2:15 A.M.) in Creek County, Oklahoma, at the home of her daughter Nora Batchelor. Molly/Mary is buried beside her husband at the Stroud Cemetery, Stroud, Lincoln County, Oklahoma. Her husband survived her, also dying of cancer in 1934.

Molly was a member of the Churches of God.

It is said of her that she was a quiet person, sort of held things within herself, and never had anything critical to say of anyone. She could tat or make lace, but didn't use a shuttle or loom; instead, she made the lace on her fingers--very delicate lace which she used to trim clothes for her daughters and also sheets and pillowcases.
