Ruth Breedlove Barranco, a long-time resident of Tulsa, Okla., died April 29, 2012, following a brief illness. Born and raised in Pine Bluff, Ark., she was 88.
Mrs. Barranco was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Breedlove and Myrtle Helms Breedlove; her five sisters, Lola Mae McGraw, Bea Winters, Lucille Murdock Davis, Dorothy Hemmert, and Mildred Haynie; her two brothers, Johnny Breedlove and Louis Breedlove Jr.; her husband, Joe Barranco; and her daughter-in-law, Virgie Payne Barranco.
She is survived by her only child, Joseph S. Barranco, Tulsa; her grand-daughter and grandson-in-law, Veronica Barranco Marks and James Marks Jr., Lewisville, Texas; her grand-daughter, Victoria Barranco Ruley, Tulsa; her grandson-in-law, Bradley Ruley, Tulsa; and her grandson and grand-daughter-in-law, J. Dominic Barranco and Megan Henderson Barranco, Tulsa.
She also is survived by her great-grandchildren: James Marks III and Andrew Marks, Lewisville; and Zachary Ruley, Zoe Ruley, and Matthew Ruley, Tulsa.
Mrs. Barranco also is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, as well as her church family at the First Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Tulsa.
On Wednesday, May 2, 2012, a visitation will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Butler-Stumpff Funeral Home in Tulsa. On Thursday, May 3, 2012, a funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. at Butler-Stumpff and interment will follow immediately thereafter at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow. Following the funeral service and interment, the family will receive guests at a private residence.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given in Mrs. Barranco's name to the Adventist Community Service Center, 920 S. New Haven Ave., Tulsa, 74112-3938.
