Geneva (Sullivan) Poindexter Underwood, 76, of Plainfield, passed away October 20, 2021. She was born November 19, 1944 to the late Cassius and Letha B. (Collins) Sullivan in Columbia, Kentucky. She was a member of Plainfield Christian Church, the Plainfield Order of the Eastern Star #414, American Legion in Avon, and the Plainfield Eagles. She worked 9 years as a clerk/typist at Wabash Life Insurance Co., and later she worked 27 years for Herff-Jones. She enjoyed roller skating ("until I was too old"), bowling, softball and other sports. Geneva is survived by a son, Shawn E. (Virginia) Poindexter; and two grandsons, Bryce G. and Brett Z. Poindexter. She was a dedicated mom and grandma. Besides her parents she was the last surviving member of her 10 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday, October 27 also in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
