My grandaunt, Nora E. Sullivan was the daughter of William and Martha Jane (Womack) Sullivan. She was the 6th child of eleven children. In 1908, she had a daughter, Rissie and I've not been able to determine what happened to Rissie's father, whether separated or deceased. About 1923, Nora married a widower, Charles William Skaggs. They had three daughters, two of whom, Edith and Eva, were stillborn or died shortly after birth. Their other daughter, Bertha lived to age 75 and is buried in this cemetery.

Nora's obituary from the October 19, 1971 Muncie Star:

Mrs. Nora E. Skaggs, 83, 1925 Meeker Avenue, died Monday in Ball Hospital [Muncie]. A native of Columbia, Kentucky, she moved to Muncie about 1½ years ago from Russell Springs, Kentucky, where she was a member of Bethlehem Separate Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Bertha Zirkelbach, Muncie, with whom she made her home, and Mrs. Rissie M. Evans, Attica; three sisters, Mrs. Nancy Alley and Mrs. Rhina E. Burton, Russell Springs, and Mrs. Valera C. Hale, Tulsa, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Friends may call at Parson Mortuary from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and before services there at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday. Dr. Franz Oerth, pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.
