Jonesboro - Dorothy L. (Polston) Baker, 71, died Friday in a family residence in Swayzee. She was born in Albany, Kentucky, to the late Joseph and Cena (Applebee) Polston. She retired from Twoson Wire, Matthews. She had also worked at Lite Spot Café, Marion, and Chris' Café, Jonesboro. She enjoyed crocheting, working puzzles, bird watching, gardening, playing bingo, mushroom hunting, and being a wonderful mother to all of her children. She was an avid Colts and Indiana Pacer fan. She is survived by her five daughters, Diane (Mike) Winger, Marion, Jacqueline (Jack) Johnston, Swayzee, Rhonda (Greg) Brummett, Anderson, Cena (Jeff) Taylor, Norfolk, Virginia, Robin (Bo) Chapman, Gas City; five sons, Greg (Connie) Cooper, Fairmount, Phillip (Sue) Cooper, Gas City, Joey (Kori) Cooper, Jonesboro, Raymond Cooper, Swayzee, Nile (April) Baker, Jonesboro; two sisters, Theda Baker, Anderson, Vanier Holsappel, Albany, Kentucky; 21 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Gay Morrison and Ann Tappan; and an infant brother. Services are at 10 a.m. today in Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, with Todd Graham officiating. Interment is in Park Cemetery, Fairmount. Memorials may be made to Grant County Fairmount Medic 7 in care of the funeral home.
