She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William J. Rovere, Jr. and Kathi F. Rovere and granddaughter, Ashley Elizabeth Rovere of Boston, MA. Emma was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, William J. Rovere, Sr. and her granddaughter, Christy Nicole Rovere.
She graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing in Huntington, West Virginia in 1944. Upon graduating, she volunteered as a nurse in the United States Army, completing her tour of duty in 1946 with the rank of First Lieutenant. She then moved to Brooklyn, New York to marry her husband, Bill. During the 30 years that she lived in the New York City area, she was a nurse at several local hospitals. When she moved to Houston in 1978, she continued her nursing career at Memorial City Hospital until she retired in 1986.
A private family service and burial was held on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
