We inherited Iggy in 2005 from a relative who left him in our care while he went on vacation, then didn't want him back when he came home. Iggy was a character and an acrobat, an enthusiastic climber and despite his fierce appearance, he was a sap; scratch him under his chin or on the side of his head and he'd mush up against your hand just like a kitten. He liked to roam free and was a terror for hiding; he once spent three days behind the entertainment unit, resisting all attempts to coax him out and finally sauntering out of his own accord when he got hungry. He stopped eating properly about a month before he died and at first we thought it was a combination of poor food supply and the very long winter but overhauling his habitat and varying his diet failed to improve him much. I dropper fed him baby food for the last week but on the last night he was having trouble even swallowing that. He died in his sleep around 8pm in his usual spot under his basking log. He was about 4 years old and 3 feet long from nose to tail.
