Shangra was one of our beloved dogs. We got him when he was a young puppy but I don't know exactly how old he was, we estimate his birth to be around Nov. 25, 1987. We got him from a farmer who wanted to give them away. Shangra had a sister that also needed a home, if they didn't find a new home soon the owners were going to have them put to sleep. They were what most people refer to as mutts because they were a mixed breed. They were German Sheperd, Husky, Samoyed and Collie. We fell in love with them immediately. Shangra was a fluffy ball of curly blonde and white fur (resembling the samoyed and collie mix) and Keetah, his sister was a beautiful black and white sleek furred girl( looking like a German Sheperd and Husky.) They didn't look like brother and sister at all. Our daughter took a liking to Keetah and I was taken aback by Shangra. Actually we couldn't make a decision so my wonderful husband said "we'll just take them both". What an adventure that was over the next several years. They added so much love and fun to our family. We never regretted taking them both. It was a sad day when they got old and sick and we had to part with them. Shangra died in my arms on the living room floor early on the morning of Aug. 12, 1999. I cried many tears, but for him I knew he was not going to be suffering any more. I had lost a true and faithful friend. I am sure he is happily running and playing with his friends over the Rainbow bridge.
