In her years of Lionism, Marguerite served as president of the club, in addition to chairing committees, most notably the Spring Fashion Show Committee. This fashion show, through the years, netted increasing funds for the club. At the time of her passing, Marguerite served as Second-Vice President of the Silver Springs Shores Lions Club. In addition to her duties as Second Vice-President, Marguerite also served as the Chaplain for the club, conducting the opening invocation for each and every meeting. Her heartfelt, gently spoken prayers were often an inspiration, a comfort, and encouraging to those who heard them.
Marguerite was a tireless worker. In addition to her volunteering with the Lions Club, she also served at Marion County Hospice as a volunteer, until just before her death.
Marguerite had a quick wit, and was known for surprising people with sweet, unexpected gifts. Her warm smile, her wisdom, and her heart will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, James Emanuel, grandchildren Eric and Erin Emanuel, and her brother, Frank Luff. Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband and fellow Lion, Robert Myers.
