LEESBURG — Barbara Lynn Cox, 67, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009.

She was born in Fargo, GA, and moved to Leesburg from Marietta, Ga., in 2000. She was a volunteer with the American Cancer Society; a participant in Relay for Life; a member of the National Intravenous Therapy Association; and worked as a registered nurse in Marietta, Ga., and at Lake County Oncology.

Survivors include her husband, Grant; sons David, Chicago, Ill., Clay, Marietta, Ga.; sister, Betty "Billy" Pfeifer, Leesburg; and two grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. M. McCoy Gibbs officiating. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 1650 W. Main Street, Suite 3, Leesburg, FL 34748 or South Lake Animal League.
