Wylie Thad Fox, 76, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2012 in Austin. He was born on September 5, 1935 in Dallas, Texas to Martin Mayo Fox and Mattie Elizabeth Trail Fox. Wylie grew up in Harlingen and graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos. He proudly served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. Wylie worked for several law enforcement agencies that include Texas Department of Corrections at Sugar Land, Travis County, Caldwell County, Lubbock County, and Capitol Police. He served as Commander of the V.F.W. Post #4443 and was a member of the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Ronald Mayo Fox and Gary M. Fox.

Wylie will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 54 years, Del Fox; sons, Will Fox, Martin Thad Fox, and Tommy Fox; grandchildren, Aly Fox Gibbons and husband Adrian, Christopher Martin Fox, and Jennifer Hill Kysh and husband, Greg; great-grandchildren, Zoe Fox, Aidan Gibbons, Adrian Gibbons, Jr.; brother, Glenn Fox; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 30, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Oak Hill, 6907 Convict Hill Road with Rob Satterfield officiating. Graveside Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, August 31, 2012 at Glenn Heirs Cemetery, Kleberg, Texas with Full Military Honors rendered by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.
